Models available

There are three different ready-to-run (RTR) models available. Two models (#5805 and 5803) run with older technology as they use brushed system. Cheapest model (#5805) also uses AM radio controller which has older style changeable crystals for different frequencies. Two other models uses 2.4Ghz technology for "hassle free" driving, even with large amount of drivers. Slash VXL (#5807) is the fastest and most expensive model with brushless system.

    Hop ups and spare parts

ST Racing Aluminum Front Bulkhead for Traxxas 2WDBrushed versions of Traxxas Slash are very durable and shouldn't break easily. If Slash is driven on asphalt or concrete it's wise to order few spare parts just in case. Front arms, bulk head and rear hubs gets most of the hits. At some point it's recommended to upgrade atleast bulk head to Aluminum version, maybe rear hubs too. When driven on gravel, small stones find their way to the rear gearbox and they can strip teeth from spur gear. Big jumps can blow out shock caps and they have to be replaced. Aluminium shock caps are pretty cheap and fixes this small problem.

Brushless Traxxas Slash VXL is very powerful and needs slightly more maintenance, especially on a drivetrain. If VXL is run on high grip it's recommended to let the slipper clutch slip little bit. Otherwise drivetrain will have very short lifespan. Same spare parts are recommended as for the brushed versions (see above), but few extra pins will keep the Slash running in case of pin failure which happens sometimes in the gear box.

Pro-Line Racing Sand PawIf Slash 2WD will be run on soft terrain like sand, snow or grass paddle tires are recommended. The Slash seen on the video Traxxas Slash Trails has Pro-Line Racing Sand Paw 2.0 Paddle Tires (1052-00) and RPM Slingshot wheels (RPM 81893). If this setup is used, it's recommended to cut body from rear wheel arches to have better clearance.
