Models availableThere are three different ready-to-run (RTR) models available. Two models (#5805 and 5803) run with older technology as they use brushed system. Cheapest model (#5805) also uses AM radio controller which has older style changeable crystals for different frequencies. Two other models uses 2.4Ghz technology for "hassle free" driving, even with large amount of drivers. Hop ups and spare parts Brushed versions of Traxxas Slash are very durable and shouldn't break easily. If Slash is driven on asphalt or concrete it's wise to order few spare parts just in case.
Front arms, bulk head and rear hubs gets most of the hits. At some point it's recommended to upgrade atleast
bulk headBrushless Traxxas Slash VXL is very powerful and needs slightly more maintenance, especially on a drivetrain. If VXL is run on high grip it's recommended to let the slipper clutch slip little bit. Otherwise drivetrain will have very short lifespan. Same spare parts are recommended as for the brushed versions (see above), but few extra pins If Slash 2WD will be run on soft terrain like sand, snow or grass paddle tires are recommended.
